Celebrate Spring
After getting slammed with snow yet again, it may be hard to believe that spring is actually just around the corner! We invite you to come celebrate the first week of spring with us at our second annual Maine Flower Show. There will be lots to see and do at the show this year. Take a sneak peek at some of the plants, flowers, shrubs and trees being grown by Pierson Nurseries:
Support Pollinators
We are continuing our Plant a Pollinator Garden! Campaign by giving away 15,000 seed packets that contain pollinator-friendly flowers and plants. We are encouraging everyone to take part in the Million Pollinator Garden challenge by planting a garden that will nourish our valuable pollinators. So be sure to stop by our Plant Something booth and pick up a free seed packet.
Scavenger Hunt for Children
Did you know that children 12 and younger get into the Maine Flower Show 2018 for free? While exploring the many beautiful display gardens, your children can also participate in a scavenger hunt! This year’s scavenger hunt is organized and present by the Maine School Garden Network, Maine Agriculture in the Classroom, and ReTreeUS. This is sure to be lots of fun for little ones.
Seminars for Everyone
In addition to feeling inspired by the display gardens, the Maine Flower Show is offering a full weekend of educational seminars. Attend one of these lectures to up your gardening game! Choose from titles such as: Gardening for Pollinators, presented by Barbara Longstaff and Kathleen Marty, from the Garden Club Federation of Maine. Or maybe you’d be interested in: Hip, Hip, Hydrangeas! The Natives, presented by Andi Ross, Educator, Speaker & Workshop Leader at It’s Nature’s Way.
