What’s going on at the Gardens?

Late Summer at CMBG
With only a week left of extended summer hours, now is the time to visit to take advantage of later hours in the Gardens. Starting Sept. 1, we will be returning to our 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours.
Be on the lookout now for two exciting events co-sponsored with Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in mid-October in our series The Ocean Garden: From Shore to Table.
Join us for a weekend event celebrating Maine’s native superfood: sea vegetables! CMBG & Bigelow have teamed up for two events focusing on local sea vegetable aquaculture and wild foraging. Learn from Maine’s own experts about this growing industry, as well methods to identify, gather, and prepare delicious sea vegetable dishes on your own. Learn more about the two events in our Botany & Ecology section.
All About Rhododendrons
In honor of our 10 year anniversary, we’re highlighting the treasures of one of our first gardens with Jeff O’Donal, a main player in the selection of the diverse rhododendron collection. Learn about cultivation, propagation, growth habits and more of these spring-time beauties.
